The Last Mile
Jason had been running for nearly an hour. His legs burned, his breath was short, and every part of his body screamed for him to stop. But he couldn’t. Not yet.
This was the final stretch of the city marathon, and he had promised himself that this time, he would finish.
A year ago, he had collapsed at this very point—just one mile from the finish line. The memory haunted him. The disappointment in his own heart had been worse than the pain in his legs. But today, he was stronger. He had trained harder, pushed past his limits, and refused to let failure define him.
As he approached the last turn, he saw a young boy holding a sign that read: "Pain is temporary, but victory lasts forever!"
Jason smiled, clenched his fists, and pushed forward. His legs ached, but he didn’t stop. He wouldn’t stop. Step by step, he moved closer to his goal.
And then, before he knew it—he crossed the finish line.
Tears welled up in his eyes as the crowd cheered. He had done it. The last mile, the hardest mile, had been conquered.
Because success isn’t about how many times you fall. It’s about getting up one more time than you fail.
Superb story 👏 👌
