The Bicycle Ride and the Unexpected Trouble
The road he chose was an old, quiet one, surrounded by trees—hardly anyone used it. Rahul smiled to himself, “Wow, the whole road is empty today, this is going to be fun.”
He was pedaling slowly when suddenly he heard someone call his name—
Rahul…
He stopped the bicycle and turned around… but no one was there. He shrugged it off, “Maybe it’s just my imagination,” and continued riding.
A little further ahead, he saw an old, broken bicycle lying in the middle of the road. Its tires were flat, and cobwebs hung from it, as if no one had touched it for years. Rahul frowned, “What’s this doing here?”
As he tried to pass that old bicycle, his own suddenly jammed. No matter how hard he pedaled, it wouldn’t move!
Then, behind him, the same voice whispered—
Stop… don’t go back…
Rahul’s heart started pounding. He looked around—the road was empty, but the air felt strangely cold. Suddenly, he realized his bicycle was slowly rolling backward on its own, and the brakes weren’t working!
He shouted—
“Who’s there? What’s happening?!”
That’s when he noticed a small, half-broken signboard on the side of the road. Faded letters on it read:
“Whoever brings a bicycle on this road… will return only on foot.”
Rahul froze. Panicking, he jumped off the bicycle, but as soon as he let it go… the old broken bicycle he had seen earlier slowly stood up on its own, as if someone invisible had grabbed it!
And in that chilling moment, Rahul realized—he wasn’t alone on this road…
The old bicycle started ringing its bell on its own—Tring… Tring…
It rolled toward Rahul’s bicycle. Both bicycles now stood together and slowly started levitating in the air! Rahul felt his legs grow heavy, like something was pulling him down, binding him to the ground.
Then the eerie voice spoke again—
Those who ride a bicycle on this road… never leave. They become part of it…
Suddenly, everything went black.
When Rahul opened his eyes, he was sitting on that same rusty old bicycle… the very one he had seen lying on the road. His hands and legs were stiff, and his voice wouldn’t come out.
From a distance, he saw a new rider coming down the road. And without his will, Rahul’s mouth spoke the same haunting words—
Stop… don’t go back…
